PIMI is intended to be used in cases of emergency for mass blood infusion.
PIMI consists of elastic bag containing inserts which make up a single construction. The inserts include an elastic polymeric container filled with infusion media, polymeric device for blood, blood substitutes and infusion solutions transfusion, bleeding stopping tourniquet and a unit with disinfectant tissues.
The advantage of PIMI is that it allows very fast emergency medical aid to the injured - doctors do not have to assemble the system or use different containers separately one at a time.
The package consists of a pressurized elastic bag 1 with inserts. The bag is made from vacuumized, pressurizing and heat-conducting material, for example, collagenous fibers, polyethylene or metallized polymeric film and/or sheet iron foil 80/100μ thick 1 with a transparent window. Insert 3 is a standard polymeric container with a medicinal dose of infusion media which is placed into a secondary waterproof polyethylene bag 1; insert 4 is a bleeding stopping tourniquet; insert 5 - is a polymeric device placed in the secondary waterproof elastic polymeric bag for transfusion of blood, blood substitutes and infusion solutions; insert 6 is a unit with disinfectant tissues in a waterproof polyethylene bag. Depending on the purpose, the some other medical means can be added to the main set.
Package is a single finished construction. Using disposable inserts 3,4,5,6 and their definite arrangement in bag 1 it is possible to do intravenous media infusion effectively at pre-hospital and hospital basis in cases of emergency.
